Every Business Involves Investment & Risk

Maybe this topic seems too general or like something everyone knows. However how often do too many people get taken in by an opportunity that seems too easy. It seems like there is nothing to do but go to the bank and make your deposits?
I really do not think you can blame this on the economy, but maybe more people look for extra income opportunities when times are not so good. I just think that people want to try something that leads to more financial independence no matter what the economy is like.

Now with the internet it seems that we are so trusting of a good sales page. We join opportunities without even talking to the people involved. Several of us would rather not even talk to a sales rep, but seem content to just run our business through emails, and online conferencing. Are you finding yourself doing this, too?

Sometimes we tend to throw our common sense out the window, and tend to believe that there is an easy way to financial freedom. Well there is not an easy way. You will trade time for money, or money for time. You have to get traffic to your offer one way or another. Your internet property now is your storefront. How are you going to get the people interested in your offer or in joining your team? The key to this is advertising.

There are several free ways to advertise online. However they all take a lot of time. Be prepared to invest some time or money, and most likely both into your new venture. Be patient with it. If you are in a hurry, you might get lucky, but more often than not, you are into an area where you are going to have to spend some time learning what to do.

It is my belief that the rewards of setting up your side business are worth the risks you take. Just set a budget and stay in it. Plan on spending at least 3-5 years before you can go independent and kiss that day job good bye. You will never know unless you give it an honest try.

Twitter Report~1

I have been a member of Twitter for quite some time now, but I am not a Twitter expert. I do not even have that many followers, and I have never used my Twitter account to send someone an email asking them to go to a website to buy something.
My Twitter report card even comes in at a 65%. There are sites where you can go and get your Twitter account rated. If your ego is easily bruised then maybe you do not want to do that.

Twitter is going to be given more press now that the rumor is out that Twitter is being bought by Google. Well, it is still a rumor, and I remember all the talk of Google buying Digg not all that long ago. Perhaps Google is only on another fact finding mission.

However, I have installed some Twitter widgets, and follow me buttons to my blog now so I can get to know how to use Twitter better. I even have 3 ebooks on Twitter where I am learning more. I have resale rights to those so eventually will list them here for sale. (YAY, you can buy a book from me!)

To Follow or Not To Follow that is the question. Whether it is better to gather thousands of followers from all walks of life, or is it better to go for quality or like-minded rather than random followings, that is the question? (See the question mark to prove it is a question.) That is the debate I am reading in the blogs around the internet written by people I have the highest regard for. Some even follow me on Twitter, too.

I have been reading a topic called Why I Suck At Twitter, and I have left on comment, but as I continue to read the following comments it only brings me more questions.
I read that topic yesterday after finding it on Twitter, and since commenting on it I have more people following me. That is really cool and exciting.

I took a poll asking if people followed me did I automatically follow them back. I thought did I manually do that, but without thinking. I thought it meant, did I make an automatic decision? I checked yes automatically. Then after reading more during the day I discovered that you can set something up to automatically (without you doing anything) choose to follow people who choose to follow you. I think that is cheesy! I at least like to look at their photo, and if I have time their profile.

As time permits I will add to my Twitter Reports, and hopefully I can help some new people along the way to have a happy Twitter experience. It is taking me far to look to figure out how to use it, but I know way more this week than I knew last week.

Stay tuned for my Twitter ebook reviews and your opportunity to get them. I am testing to see how valid the content is since I think the books have been around for a while.

April Showers Arrive

Can you believe that for the Northern Hemisphere it is already Springtime? Of course for my friends in the Southern Hemisphere you are getting ready for the approaching Winter season in a few months. Hopefully the change in seasons will bring forth hope for a better future.

Whether it is a new year, a new day, it is always a good time for a new beginning. When you are an internet marketer, you know that every day can bring some sort of change to your marketing plan. It seems with every year that there is a huge leap forward in technology. We rely on each other to keep up on these changes, or at least I do, because if I did not do this I would find myself watching opportunity pass me by.

Do you want to keep up with technology changes? If you are over 30, you better find some younger friends. I work with teenagers and they always seem to have the latest gadget or know about it. I do not buy anything electronic without getting the input of the teens. You have to be aware of what they are using, and what they have tested.

If you are looking for a cell phone, find out what the teens recommend. Why is that? How many times do they drop them? They are on them all day using every feature. They text constantly, take and send pictures, immediately posting to their MySpace pages, sharing MP3 songs.

Teens are amazing! I see more and more teen entrepreneurs, too. They have not bought into the No, you can not do that, mentality. Please do not discourage anyone by saying, “no, you can not do that” to them.

Well once again a post starts here and goes all over the place. What I am saying and where I am going with this is that we all need to be open to changes since they occur faster than we usually expect.
How do we do that?
