I mentioned “i Hid.us” in the earlier post on tiny urls. Not all tools to make a tiny url are the same now. If you want a unique shortener, then you should take a look at i hid.us while it is fairly new and is free to use for unlimited use and great stats on your hits.

There is a organized page on the site where the stats are kept, and that is a great feature. The site even goes one further for a process where you can have a certain amount of Tweets automatically set up. You can join free for this service and expand your amount of Tweets by your membership choice. My hits through Twitter have definitely gone up with this service.

For a service with a free membership you can not go wrong with using Orange Leads where i hid.us is located. I could go on for quite a few more paragraphs to tell about the exciting features for Orange Leads. However I will stay on topic about the tiny urls for now. I recommend programs with great customer service and good value. Customer service is one of my top priorities when writing about a product. Timothy at Orange Leads, and i hid.us is always on top of answering his support questions in a fast time period. He helps you a whole lot with anything on the site.

To get started using i hid.us today, just click on the link here and you will be directed to their site. Tim is always adding new features, and you get quite a lot as a free member when you are on there.

Please let me know if you are using any of the Orange Leads features as a result of this post. Thanks in advance.

In Part 1 we talked about the main tinyurl.com and about Craig Haywood and his URL shortening and tracking services. Those are both good to use when you are an affiliate marketer and want to get people to your site before they go shopping on another site where you are not going to get the credit for the sale.

We are finding more URL shorteners out there now, and I am going to mention 2 more that are relevant for today’s affiliate marketer. Although there are more, and you might have one not mentioned that you enjoy using, that is great. Several people are familiar with the ones I am adding here, but maybe you are not, and this will be of interest to you then.

If you have a Twitter account then you are familiar with the URL, bit.ly. Twitter enjoys shortening URLs to the bit.ly format, and if you are not using it yourself, it is one you should consider signing up for.

bit.ly that is all you need to type into your browser to find it. If you want to add the http://bit.ly/ then you can do that, too. Here is what you will find once you get there.

You can create an account, and you can add your Twitter account or accounts to bit.ly Once you have the account and you look at the tweets you are getting and hover your mouse over the names you get the following results as I have with my example of TheSpotter on Twitter.

This gives you an overview of who is contacting you on Twitter.

With Part 3 of this Tiny URL series I will be introducing Orange Leads and their URL shortening tool that is also free to use and has many great features along with a way to integrate it to your twitter account and to set up automatic postings.

Today’s internet coaching report is on those tiny urls that you find in your emails, or that as a affiliate marketer you are likely to be using. If you have been around the internet for any length of time you already have seen the tiny or short urls that so many people use.
I might be wrong but it seemed that is started with one major player and that was tinyurl.com It would simply change a long affiliate url into a shortened one so that people could not really tell the article or advertisement was sending them to a sales page or an affiliate link.

People would use shortened urls as a way to mask or hide the main link. Short urls were a less expensive way to grab a domain name than making a major purchase. They could be used instead of a domain name that had a lengthy affiliate identification number at the end of the url, too.

Craig Haywood came up with his own url tracker, and there might be others out there, but his is pretty easy to use and he offers a large variety of choice for them. Craig got the persona of the “blue guy” because of his avatar. Have you heard or seen Craig’s avatar?

Here is what Craig Haywood did. He put together a url shortening system that can also be an affiliate program for you to promote. Plus there are stats on your url so you can make different ones going to the same landing page to do your testing of your ads, or ad placements. This is a great service that people who are really serious about affiliate marketing or just marketing on the internet in general will want to take a look at.

This is all not new. Craig has been on the internet for years now. He stands behind his product and he does have good customer service. You can click on this link for more information. You can start with Track That Ad free. It offers better ad tracking than tinyurl.com.

Tomorrow I will finish this article and will talk about more free url shortening sites and give you links two more that also have free stat trackers with them.
