Best wishes for a wonderful 2010. I spent the holidays in a variety of hospitals since my beautiful healthy mother surprised us all by having a series of heart attacks.
This came as a total shock to our family, and has turned my life upside down. This was the first year that I experienced Christmas in the hospital. I stayed there with her day and night for about 7 days. It was a very educational experience and I am writing about it on my blog, FaithnHopenLove
For some reason writing about this is a lot more difficult than I thought it would be. I had this whole series in my mind, but making the time to actually put it down seems to get put off. Maybe it is because she is back in the hospital.
For self employed people, and those who are mainly responsible for their own health care plans it is pretty scary out there. There are options available that most people are not even aware of. However if you are not classified “poor” in the US, you have very limited choices in the help available to your as far as paying your medical bills, and the choices that they recommend to you as far as after hospital care.
I intend to cover most of this on my other blog. Right now we are starting the process of working with a city retirement health plan, the medicare/medical systems and the Veterans Administration.
If anyone has any pointers on any of this, please share them here.
I feel that health care is a huge factor in business information. I just pretty much had my eyes closed to it. Now I have been made aware, and hope I can share experiences with fellow bloggers. The future comes way too fast to not be prepared for your retirement health care.
