Thank you for your comments Gaida. I imagine health care in the US is going to go that way where we will be taxed if our employer helps pay our health care. The rich are going to have to do more to help the needy it seems.
No one really knows all that the health care reform holds. I sure do not.

It is a shame that you have to lose all you own to qualify for help with your medical expenses. I am not sure what the future holds, A huge flaw in our system is that you might end up homeless and penniless if you do not have long term care insurance and some sort of guaranteed disability income that will cover your living costs.

I am witnessing that with my parent's situation now.

In Australia we have our Medicare which covers part of our doctor and hospital visits. We're given tax concessions for covering ourselves for private health...which is very expensive.

Living a healthy lifestyle can hopefully help avoid a hospital visit. Visiting hospital certainly is an education and not always a pleasant one. With one of our local hospitals without airconditioning and the weather reaching 40 definitely not the place to end up. Our local Harvey Norman Store donated airconditioners as our government weren't coming to the party.

Sorry to hear about your mother and hope that she is on the way to recovery. It's a very stressful time when our loved ones are sick.

Hello my good friend Chris. It is nice to know you have some positive cash flow going. However with that comes the people waiting to take their share of it. I did not think Arizona had state income taxes. One thing you can do is move to a state without income tax to cut down one, but I guess they just get it from somewhere else.

LLC is a great way to go to keep some money in your pocket, and taking advantage of the tax benefits of being self employed. Those quarterly returns come all too often for the self employed, however it is nice to have the benefits of being your own boss.

Being self employed is not for everyone. When you do not work, you do not get paid. There are no paid sick days. You do not have anyone paying your health care but you, and getting assistance is very difficulty. There is really no disability plan either.

Still the bravest of souls enjoy their self employment and would not trade it for the world.

You are very right Rocque. I made a lot of money last year and I still can't pay for self employed health insurance.

By the time you pay the state, the feds, and your accountant you are out a lot of money when you are self employed.

The best move we made last year was to finally make our business an LLC. Going to be a much better year in 2010 because of it. I suggest you all do the same if you a turning a profit of $50K to $100K or more.
