Internet Coaches~3

-->

Have you ever heard learning something new without having some coaching instruction compared to learning how to drive without any coaching?  Maybe you were one of the ones who was a natural at driving.  You just got in the car and it all worked for you.  I think the chances of that happening are pretty rare.

It used to be that when we thought of coaches it was just for sports.  However, most successful people use or have used coaching.  Most successful people will still have a mastermind group as mentioned in the earlier  posts on this blog.

Someone recently sent me a video on types of governments, and it talked about how different types were lead.  One type of government had a main dictator.  However, even the dictator had a staff that he or she would consult with.  A republic is based on the voice of the people but the leader still has his or her cabinet or advisory group.

Most people who are using the internet for a business opportunity find that when they have a support group, or internet coaches in the area or areas where they need to improve in, or even to stay competitive in that their growth is faster and they stay focused better.

Internet Coaches should have a high standard of ethics.  If you are getting advice from someone who is telling you that you have to do certain things to succeed and these things send off red flares of WARNING, listen to those warnings.  Not all internet coaches are created equally.

Some of the best places to find coaches are by visiting websites, blogs, social sites, and forums online.  You might investigate any offerings from your local community colleges.  There are a lot of seminars becoming available to get you started with an online business, too.  I know some people who have gone through those.  The reports are good and bad.

As someone mentioned in a post you have to take action on what the coaches offer you.  Your success might take longer than they tell you it will in their sessions to get you to sign up.  Any coaching that you pay for and is over $1000 for just a few sessions is not going to allow you enough time to put it all into action.  Any coach that abandons you in a few sessions when you pay that type of money is going to be a disappointment.

They might tell you that you will be making money the first month so you will be able to start paying on your credit card that you used to pay for the course.  I know this because I have experienced it.  Of course this was too good to be true.  It took a month to research keywords and get a website up and running.  If you are new to this sort of thing, and you only meet your coach one day a week for an hour, you are not going to get the type of information you need to be earning enough to pay back your coaching fees in a month.

You should make a list of things to ask anyone who is representing the internet coaches.  Ask about guarantees if they suggest you are going to be in profit the first month.  Ask if there is a monthly subscription instead of paying for the whole course up front.  If they say NO then that should be what you say to them, too.

Do not give up.  Once you start your search for coaching you will soon find what you are looking for.

Stay tuned for the next installment on this series.

Another great post, I’m following your series! It is true what you say, coaching in any form, be it face-to-face, classroom, mentoring, etc is a key to success and there is just no other way around it.

“Internet Coaches should have a high standard of ethics” You are so correct here. There are Coaches and actually people in general that are unethical and just want the money. As you say it’s wise to do your research first ask lot’s of questions and you’ll soon find someone you can trust and work with

When it comes to internet coaches, I always look to someone who is achieving the sort of results I want to achieve. I think this is important when finding a mentor. I don’t believe in taking advice from someone who has not already ‘been there, done that’.

I agree that having a coach can be a major decision on weather you are successful or not. Especially if you are new to Internet Marketing or You are new to a particular business. Either way it will help to have someone who has been there made the mistakes and is now successful to help keep you on track. Great post thanks.

Good information. Definitely true that not all coaches are created equally, whether they be internet based or any profession. It’s important to find one who understands and works with individual personalities and is able to best utilize each individual’s inherent strengths and weaknesses, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. A coach who only talks and never listens is of little value. I learned that the hard way in another industry. :)

Thanks for all the great comments I am seeing here. I have a few coaches at the moment. That might seem funny, but summertime is the time when I can focus more on what I want to improve and learn. I am working on some specific areas of marketing and finance, and of course self improvement.
I use my experience with a variety of coaches to help write these posts.

Find coaches who ‘walk the walk’ and not just ‘talk the talk’ – there are certainly plenty of those out there. I is worth asking pertinent questions to make sure that the people you will look to for advice and inspiration are worth the attention!
