With the start of the new year it seems that the online businesses continue to press forward, and the movie and entertainment industry is flourishing. The reports of December 2009 retail sales were disappointing. I know I spent less this December than in years before. I had to cut back.
There are people making money in this economy. You hear them speak and their mindset is that I am not going to choose to let the nation’s economy affect my personal life. Most of these people are self employed. However you have to have the strength to shut off what you are hearing daily by the news and probably 99% of the people you talk to.
I have found myself getting more and more negative and have had to give myself a huge wake up call. Where did my positive thinking go? Life can hand us lemons, and when our thoughts get possessed by all that is negative it is not a good place to be.
That is when we really need to examine what we listen to and what we focus on. Listening to the positive people who are succeeding in this economy is better than listening to the economic reports from television and radio announcers.
There are still needs to be filled and ways for innovative people to earn more money during 2010.
I am still consumed by my mother’s ill health and the predictions that she will soon die. It is really difficult to think positively when that thought is being hammered at you daily. When I hear that I answer a giant NO. They do not know her will. They do not know that she is the most positive person I have ever met and she can overcome any adversity sent her way.
Luckily whether she lives or dies, I have all that I have learned from her to carry me through, just as her mother taught it to her. Please focus on what you say to yourself and the mindset you are going in. Are you predicting doom and gloom, or are you looking for opportunities in all situations?
We all have detours and set backs in life. They are there to make us stronger and smarter, not to cause us to get stuck in the pit of despair where there is no way out. People who quit do not end recessions and bad economic times. Find a way to succeed and share your success with others who need a helping hand.
Refuse to buy into the failure theory, and keep on going forward, even if you did fall a few steps backwards. Your personal business outlook for 2010 is going to depend a lot on how you think and the actions you take. Let me know what you are doing and how you do with it.
