Tiny URL Part 2

In Part 1 we talked about the main tinyurl.com and about Craig Haywood and his URL shortening and tracking services. Those are both good to use when you are an affiliate marketer and want to get people to your site before they go shopping on another site where you are not going to get the credit for the sale.

We are finding more URL shorteners out there now, and I am going to mention 2 more that are relevant for today’s affiliate marketer. Although there are more, and you might have one not mentioned that you enjoy using, that is great. Several people are familiar with the ones I am adding here, but maybe you are not, and this will be of interest to you then.

If you have a Twitter account then you are familiar with the URL, bit.ly. Twitter enjoys shortening URLs to the bit.ly format, and if you are not using it yourself, it is one you should consider signing up for.

bit.ly that is all you need to type into your browser to find it. If you want to add the http://bit.ly/ then you can do that, too. Here is what you will find once you get there.

You can create an account, and you can add your Twitter account or accounts to bit.ly Once you have the account and you look at the tweets you are getting and hover your mouse over the names you get the following results as I have with my example of TheSpotter on Twitter.

Bit.ly

This gives you an overview of who is contacting you on Twitter.

With Part 3 of this Tiny URL series I will be introducing Orange Leads and their URL shortening tool that is also free to use and has many great features along with a way to integrate it to your twitter account and to set up automatic postings.
If you want a sneak peak follow this banner link.
